How to Enroll Your Child in St. Gabriel Consolidated School
St. Gabriel Consolidated School serves the following parishes: St. Maximilian Kolbe (Liberty Township), St. John (West Chester), and St. Gabriel (Glendale). Registration for the upcoming school year is held in three separate steps:
1. Current Students and Siblings
January 7th, 2021 – March 1st, 2021 – This would include any potential Kindergarten students.
2. If you are a member of one of the above-listed parishes
January 18th, 2021 – March 1st, 2021 – Register through the school. You will be notified of acceptance by March 1st at the latest.
3. If you are not an affiliated member of one of the above-listed parishes or you are non-Catholic
Registration will begin January 31st, 2021 (if space is available). School hours for registration on January 31st will be 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The consolidated school of St. Gabriel admits students of any sex, race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights and privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to members of our parishes. It does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of educational policies, admission policies, athletic, and other school-administered programs, and in hiring teachers.
All children registering for Kindergarten are required to attend a Kindergarten Screening. This screening is mandatory and must be completed before the child will be assigned a place in a class. Children eligible for Kindergarten must be five on or before August 31st of the current year. Children are eligible for early entrance testing if they are five before the first day of January. Testing will be administered by the local public school district’s psychologist. Children who pass the early entrance testing must still complete and pass the St. Gabriel Consolidated School screening process in order to be eligible for placement in a class.
New Student Requirements
All new students (parish and non-parish) registering in grades K-8 will need to create a FACTS account to set up tuition payments plus pay the $175 registration fee and provide the following information:
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- Student Health History form (located in packet or school website)
- Copy of current ETR, IEP, SP, 504 plan or Services Plan, if applicable
- Any custody papers if applicable
- Students 1-8 will need to turn in a copy of the most current report card along with a signed Records Release form (from the school office)
All new students are subject to an interview and assessment by the school staff before acceptance. After the interview and a review of all documentation, a determination will be made regarding the student’s acceptance and notification will be sent to the child’s parents. New students are not accepted after the 1st trimester of school unless they are new parish members just moving into one of the three (3) parishes from outside boundaries, and if space allows. Exceptions to this rule can only be made by the building principal.
As it is imperative that appropriate services are available for children with special needs, admission determinations for children with special needs will be made on a case by case basis once all records are reviewed by the Principal.
